The brief from this client was to transform the apartment to accomdate a large, spa-like bathroom and an open, social kitchen. In traditional Copenhagen apartment buildings, the biggest challenge in re-arranging spaces is usually the fixed location of the plumbing drain pipes. In this case, the existing kitchen was converted into a large bathroom with a bathtub, and the tiny existing bathroom could be repurposed as a laundry room and entry closet which was missing from the previous layout. The kitchen was then established along the wall of the expansive living space.

All walls and ceilings have been painted the same shade of warm gray (beige!), and the existing floors and original doors were sanded and retreated to enhance the natural color of the wood. The bathroom is all micro-cement, and the kitchen fronts are made of 100% recycled acrylic, designed by Lumière Bricoleur.
